Sometimes it is quite difficult to rise above and break the spiralling self-centred ‘navel gazing’ of the darkness. Part of this is recognition of when the spiral is beginning and just to not go there. The question to ask when thoughts arise is ‘Where is this thought originiating?’ If not from God, then discard the thought and move on to different thoughts. Do this before the spiral gains any hold. Yes – it does work.
